| A basic description
|
This is a biotin-labeled and amidated peptide derived from residues 368-393 of human p53 tumor suppressor protein with acetylation at Lys373 and additional KGW residues on its N-terminus. Activated p53 functions to induce cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in response to signals such as DNA damage. Acetylation of p53 reduces ubiquitination by MDM2 and increases p53 half-life in vivo.
