p53K382Me2 is derived from amino acid residues 377-387 of human p53 tumor suppressor protein, with dimethylation at Lys382. DNA damage induces increased levels of this peptide, which is recognized by p53-binding protein 1 (53BP1). 53BP1 interacts with p53 and modulates its transactivation.
