| A basic description
|
Tetraddecapeptide that is originally isolated from amphibian skin and is biologically active in both the central nervous system and gastrointestinal tract. Bombina bombina and bombina variegata variegata, a potent stimulant of gastric acid secretion, is proposed to be strong biologically active in central nervous system, e.g. suppressing feeding in rats. Bombesin-like peptides have been biochemically characterized in rat brain.
