A basic description
|
Peptide that binds with high affinity to CRF receptor types 1, 2a & 2b, stimulates cAMP accumulation from cells transfected with those receptors, and acts in vitro to releaes ACTH from dispersed rat anterior pituitary cells. In using a genomic library, the human urocortin has been cloned and localized to human chromosome 2. It has also been discovered that both human and rat urocortin share 95% identity within the mature peptide region.
